About Thaiwoo Ski Resort

Thaiwoo is a purpose-built resort laid out as a European-style alpine village at the foot of the slopes, blending skiing, dining and entertainment so families and groups can settle in without leaving the mountain. The village sits between 1,500 m and 2,000 m, and the terrain is zoned so that first-timers and experts each get their own space.

Across the master plan the resort sets out 200 trails, split roughly 3:4:3 between beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain - a mix that supports professional race events while still giving new skiers room to learn. Around 30 trails covering some 40 km are groomed for the season.

A dedicated beginners' area covers about 6 hectares of snowmaking and is served by 10 magic carpets, so new skiers spend their time sliding rather than queueing. The beginner trail zone adds roughly 15 hectares of separate terrain, reached by French-made POMA four-person detachable high-speed chairlifts fitted with weather hoods.

Intermediate terrain covers about 30 hectares of varied gradients and slope orientations, with evenly pitched runs that stay comfortable through the day; the Sasha trail here runs for roughly 3 km. Advanced terrain takes in around 20 hectares, including Modern Dance and Lambada, where gradients reach up to 52% over runs of up to about 800 m.

The 7 hectare Rave terrain park stacks features of different difficulty - banks, rollers and wave sections with rails and boxes - for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Thaiwoo has hosted a FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup mogul event on the Running Dancer course. The Waltz and Polka trails meet the requirements for men's and women's super-G, giant slalom and slalom, and have been submitted to the FIS Alpine Skiing technical committee for certification. The Sasha trail is built to FIS technical requirements for parallel and dual slalom events.
